Ford, an American car company, plans to build 300,000 of new types of cars every year at its factory in the Valencia region of Spain, starting in 2027. The Spanish Industry Ministry announced this news on Friday.

In March, Ford had talked about making a new sports utility vehicle (SUV) at its Valencia plant. The ministry said, “It is a model that will guarantee the workload for this factory and prepare it for the future.”

Currently, Ford makes its Kuga SUV at the plant. The factory has 4,800 workers. In recent years, the production of other car models at the plant was reduced.

A spokesperson from Ford Spain did not give a response immediately when asked for a comment.
