The new Mustang GTD is made to be Ford’s weapon for winning international road races. Ford is taking the GTD on a tour in Europe to go along with its debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 21. To remember this, Ford is starting a new digital series to show the GTD’s development. The pictures in the gallery above are the first part of this online story.
Ford said, “These pictures and videos show high-performance equipment in ways that match the high-performance nature of the Mustang GTD.” They will be shared on social media like YouTube and TikTok. This suggests that the campaign will include more than just pictures, possibly including videos.
Greg Goodall, the Chief Program Engineer for the Mustang GTD, said, “We’ve tested the Mustang GTD a lot in North America, including at places like Sebring International Raceway and Virginia International Raceway. We did this to make a car that can go around the Nürburgring in less than seven minutes. Moving to European roads and doing tests at the Nürburgring is the next step before a timed run later this year.”
Goodall said this timed run will happen in the fourth quarter of the year. Before that, the GTD will be at events like the 24 Hours of Spa and the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Ford is starting to build excitement just as European customers can start asking for reservations for the GTD. Details about this will come out in June. More than 7,500 customers have already said they want a GTD for 2025 and 2026. We’ll have to wait and see how European fans react to this chance.
