The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD has a special rear suspension that’s inspired by race cars. But what’s even cooler is a feature called the “suspension window.”
This window lets you see the fancy engineering of the car. It’s like a big piece of clear plastic where the back seats would be. It’s 24 inches wide and 10 inches tall, so you can look back and see the shock absorbers working. They’re painted blue and gold and look pretty cool. The window is coated to keep it from getting scratched.
Jim Owens, who works on marketing for the Mustang GTD, said, “The rear suspension is designed for purpose, but it’s also just a beautiful thing to look at. It would have been a shame for us to hide it away never to be seen.”
Ford says these shock absorbers can change from soft to firm in just 15 milliseconds. They adjust to the road to keep the tires on the ground. The car also has special settings for different driving modes. For example, in Track mode, the suspension gets lower and stiffer to help with racing.
Ford wants to set a really fast lap time at the Nürburgring race track this year. They also plan to show off the GTD at big events like the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
