The teenager did well in his race for Ferrari in Jeddah. People are now thinking he might get a seat with Haas in 2025.
Last year, Bearman drove for Haas twice. This year, he has six more chances to drive for them.
But Hulkenberg thinks Bearman should focus on doing well in F2 instead of thinking about moving up to F1 too soon.
“I think he should concentrate on F2 for now. If he doesn’t do well there, people will forget about his race in Jeddah very quickly,” said Hulkenberg.
Hulkenberg also said that while young drivers need to do their best when given a chance in F1, Bearman is still learning.
“He did a great job in Jeddah, but he’s still a junior driver for Ferrari. If he keeps doing well, he’ll get his chance in F1 eventually,” Hulkenberg explained.
Even though Hulkenberg praised Bearman’s first F1 race, he pointed out that Bearman had a good car from Ferrari, which made a big difference.
“Being in a good car helps, and Bearman was in the second-best car. That’s tough for everyone else to see, but that’s how it goes,” said Hulkenberg.
Kevin Magnussen, another driver, also spoke positively about Bearman’s performance in Jeddah.
“I understand where he is in his career, so I wish him the best. Nico, my teammate, is very good too. We work well together, and I think having experienced drivers helps our team,” said Magnussen.
Magnussen thinks the team should focus on doing their best with the drivers they have now and the car they’re driving.
