This year, Red Bull Racing got a new start with new leaders hoping for better results on the track.

However, the team has had a tough beginning to the season, struggling to keep up with the faster cars. Both Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo, the drivers for Red Bull, haven’t finished in the top ten in any races yet. This is disappointing for them because they were hoping to do well and maybe get a chance to drive for Red Bull in 2025.

Helmut Marko, who is a big decision-maker at Red Bull, believes that both Tsunoda and Ricciardo need to perform better, given the current situation.

He said, “Both drivers have a lot at stake. They might be aiming for a seat at Red Bull, and one should be performing better than the other. Right now, Ricciardo is lagging behind a bit. Tsunoda does okay in qualifying, but they’re both too slow in races.”

Marko thinks that both drivers missed opportunities to score points in the first two races, which shouldn’t have happened. He believes they need to make better decisions during races to get points, especially since it’s hard to score points when you’re not in the top five teams.

As for who might drive for Red Bull next year, Marko says Sergio Perez, the current driver, is doing well and doesn’t need to worry about losing his seat. But for the future, they might consider younger drivers.

He said, “Perez is doing great right now, but he’s not the youngest anymore, and neither is Ricciardo. So, we might think about bringing in younger talent.”

When asked about Liam Lawson, who filled in for Ricciardo last year, Marko said Lawson showed promise and could be considered if he continues to perform well.
