After thinking about what he wants for the future, Alonso signed a contract with Aston Martin. He’ll be driving for them in Formula 1 for at least the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Depending on what Alonso wants later on, he might continue driving or take on a different role with Aston Martin.

Alonso will turn 45 during the 2026 season. Even though he’s not slowing down yet, he’s honest about how he feels. He said, “If one day, I feel that I’m not motivated, not in good shape, or not fast…I will be the first one to raise my hand and say, ‘You know, I have maybe lost here or there.'”

Alonso believes he’s still got a few good years left in him. He mentioned Lewis Hamilton, who will turn 40 next year, and joked that he won’t be the only older driver in Formula 1.

Alonso never thought about retiring from racing. He thought about it during the busy start of the season when he had to travel a lot for races and events. But after the Australian Grand Prix, he decided to stay in Formula 1 because he loved racing too much.

He explained, “I needed some time to think if I wanted to keep racing for more years. It wasn’t about racing, it was about all the traveling. But I realized I love driving too much to stop.”

Alonso loves everything about Formula 1. He trains hard to stay fit for racing and enjoys every aspect of being a Formula 1 driver. He’s happy with his lifestyle and doesn’t want to give it up anytime soon.
