Carlos Sainz had a bit of trouble during the qualifying session. He went off the track at the last corner, which made the session stop temporarily. But he managed to get his Ferrari going again and finished a lap to go back to the pits.

Ferrari quickly fixed Sainz’s car, and he got back into the qualifying session. He did well enough to move on to the next part of qualifying and ended up in seventh place.

Now, there’s some fuss because Aston Martin is not happy with the results. They complained to the FIA, the people who make the rules for Formula 1 races. They say that according to one rule if a car stops during qualifying, the driver shouldn’t be allowed to keep going. But Sainz managed to keep driving his car back to the pits, even though he stopped for a moment on the track.

Aston Martin thinks Sainz shouldn’t have been allowed to continue. They want his lap times in the last two parts of qualifying deleted. If that happens, it would move Lance Stroll, another driver, up to 10th place on the starting grid.

Representatives from Aston Martin and Ferrari will talk to the FIA about this issue.

Lance Stroll is important in this story because he was just outside the top 10. If Sainz’s times are deleted, Stroll would move up to 10th place.

Sainz talked about his mistake after qualifying. He said he made a simple error, hitting a curb too hard and spinning off the track. He was close to crashing into a wall but managed to steer away just in time. After that, he did a good lap in the next part of qualifying to regain his confidence.

So, there’s a bit of drama in the Formula 1 world as Aston Martin tries to change the qualifying results because of what happened with Sainz’s car. We’ll have to wait and see what the officials decide.
