Newey said earlier this week that he will leave his current team, Red Bull, next year. He hasn’t been happy there for a while.
He will be free from March 2025, so many teams are interested in hiring him.
Ferrari is one of the teams interested in him. They want him to help them do better, especially since Lewis Hamilton joined them in 2025.
Aston Martin has also made an offer to Newey, offering him a lot of money to work for them.
Now, Williams wants Newey too. James Vowles, the team boss, said he talked to Newey last week when he knew Newey was leaving Red Bull.’
Vowles said, “Adrian is very important in our sport. He has been part of many championship teams. It’s important for us to talk to him.”
Newey has a history with Williams. He was there during their most successful time in the early 1990s. He helped design cars that won many championships.
Vowles said that having Newey on the team would be like a dream. But they still have a lot of work to do, with or without Newey. They have talked to him, but nothing is decided yet.
