The team from Faenza had a good weekend in Miami. Tsunoda did well, finishing eighth on Saturday and seventh on Sunday. His teammate, Daniel Ricciardo, did great on Saturday too, coming fourth in qualifying and in the race, but he didn’t do as well on Sunday, finishing in 15th place.
Red Bull Racing gained 12 points, keeping their sixth place in the standings, just behind Aston Martin.
Tsunoda is happy about how the team is doing. He says they’re improving fast. He feels they’re getting better and better with each race. He’s happy they’re not just finishing around tenth place anymore, but even higher, like eighth, ninth, or seventh. He knows they’re not as good as Mercedes yet, but in the last race, he was as fast or even faster than one of the Mercedes cars.
He thinks if they keep improving like this, they might even catch up to the top five teams someday. That’s what they’re aiming for now.
Tsunoda had a busy race in Miami. He had to fight with many drivers, including Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes. At one point, he almost lost control of his car, which scared him. He made a mistake but then found his pace again. He enjoyed racing against Hamilton, even though Hamilton passed him in the end, just like the day before. It felt like déjà vu to him.
