Vasseur, who has won many titles in junior racing and helped Maranello win races, knows that staying at the top means being excellent in every way.His time at Ferrari has been about making small improvements instead of big changes all at once.
He’s made some good signings, like Lewis Hamilton for 2025 and Loic Serra and Jerome d’Ambrosio this week. But for Vasseur, it’s not just about getting new people. He believes the right attitude is key to success in racing.
He’s changed the mindset at Ferrari. Instead of chaos, there’s a calm atmosphere now. Vasseur thinks being a bit more daring is important to beat Red Bull. He wants his team to take risks, like Red Bull does.
He says, “I want to take some risks because our competitors are taking risks. I think it’s the DNA of Red Bull, probably.”
Sometimes being too cautious can hold a team back. At Ferrari, they used to play it safe, but Vasseur wants to change that.
He says, “If you take margin, you are safe and you don’t improve.”
Vasseur’s goal is to push Red Bull out of their comfort zone. He knows Ferrari might not be faster than Red Bull yet, but he wants to pressure them into making mistakes.
He says, “The target is to be faster than them, for sure. It’s not to stay behind and to wait for something.”
Vasseur knows taking risks can lead to mistakes, but he’s ready to accept that if it means getting Ferrari back to the top.
