Symonds decided to leave Formula One

Pat Symonds has been with Formula One since 2017. He was part of a team that helped make rules to improve racing. They made rules for new cars in 2022 and 2026. But now, with the rules for 2026 almost ready, Symonds decided to leave Formula One. He told Formula One staff about this on Monday. He will not work from now on.

People thought Symonds might leave when the 2026 rules were done. He talked about leaving for some time. We don’t know what he will do next, but he might want to rest as he’s almost 71.

A few years ago, Symonds thought about retiring after the 2022 rules were set. But he stayed for the new rules. Now, he’s not working, but he might not leave Formula One completely.

Symonds has been in Formula One for a long time. He started at Toleman, which later became Benetton. He helped Benetton win titles in the 1990s with Michael Schumacher. After leaving Renault in 2008, he worked at Virgin and Williams before joining Formula One.
