Red Bull has been busy securing the futures of its senior staff as it gears up for the new rules era in 2026.
Adrian Newey, the chief technical officer, is leaving next year, so Red Bull needed to act quickly to make sure its team is ready for the changes.
Some important members, like technical director Pierre Wache, have already signed new contracts. Others, like Enrico Balbo and Ben Waterhouse, have also secured their positions.
Now, it’s been revealed that Chief Engineer Monaghan, who’s been with Red Bull since 2005, has agreed to stay with the team for a long time.
Sporting Director Jonathan Wheatley’s contract is next to be sorted. He was thinking about leaving but might stay with Red Bull after all.
Red Bull wants to make sure it has a strong team in place even after Newey leaves. Wache, who’s in charge now, believes they’re ready to handle the changes.
He said, “We’re ready to work together as a team, even if one person leaves. It’s sad to see Adrian go, but we’re prepared for it. We have to show that we can still succeed without him.”
