In qualifying for Formula 1 races, drivers have to come out of the pit lane in the right order. But sometimes, drivers try to cut in line, causing problems.
Drivers don’t want to be at the back because then they might not get a chance to do their laps. So, they try to get ahead of others in the queue.
Monaco’s track is very short. It’s crucial to avoid traffic to get a good lap time. So, on Saturday, things might get even more intense.
To solve this, Wittich, who manages the races, has set new rules. Now, drivers can only join the fast lane if their front wheel has crossed a certain line.
According to Wittich’s rules, a car is officially in the fast lane only when its tire goes past a yellow line.
Also, drivers should smoothly merge into the fast lane without blocking others.
Wittich also said that if there’s enough space, drivers can join the fast lane without causing trouble.
These new rules make sure drivers can’t just push their way into the queue. They need to wait for a clear gap before joining the fast lane.
