The world champion team, Red Bull, faced challenges during the Monaco Grand Prix. Both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez struggled to make their car, the RB20, go fast. The car felt unstable and uncomfortable on the bumps and kerbs of the Monaco track.
They tried making the car softer to improve its ride, but it only made things worse. This suggests there might be a problem with the car’s suspension. Christian Horner, the team boss, said they need to figure out what’s wrong quickly.
Red Bull’s other team, RB, used last year’s suspension and didn’t have the same issues. Verstappen thinks Red Bull’s car has had this problem for a while, but it’s only becoming obvious now because the competition is tougher.
Horner said they don’t know the exact cause of the problem yet, so they can’t say when they’ll fix it. They’ve had similar issues in the past, like in Singapore last year, so they know they need to work on this part of the car.
They need to find solutions fast because the next race is in Canada, where dealing with bumps is important. Despite the challenges, Red Bull is still leading both championships. They’ll learn from Monaco and try to do better in the next race.
