In the Monte Carlo race, Esteban Ocon tried a daring move on Pierre Gasly on the first lap. He tried to pass Gasly at a tight spot, but it didn’t work out. Both Alpine cars ended up crashing, and Ocon had to retire because his car got launched in the air.
Gasly was upset with Ocon for not following team orders. Gasly said, “The car behind is supposed to help the one in front during the race.” The team boss, Bruno Famin, even talked about taking serious action because of the crash.
After these comments, rumors spread online. Some people thought Ocon might not race in the Canadian Grand Prix because of what happened.
But Ocon cleared things up on social media. He said he’s still going to race in Montreal. He also defended himself against all the criticism he’s been getting.
He wrote, “A lot has been said after the Monaco Grand Prix. While many people supported me, I also got a lot of hate and negativity online. People said things about me that aren’t true and really hurt me.”
Ocon talked about how he’s always been professional and respectful in his racing career. He mentioned his past teammates like Daniel Ricciardo, Sergio Perez, Fernando Alonso, and Gasly. He admitted they sometimes had tough battles on the track, but it’s part of racing.
He also showed respect for Gasly as a teammate and competitor. He said they’ve always worked well together as part of the team, and that won’t change.
