Verstappen recently faced some tough races where McLaren and Ferrari won instead of him in Miami and Monaco. This happened because his car, the RB20, had trouble with kerbs and on bumpy tracks.

This issue is because Red Bull focused a lot on aerodynamics and didn’t leave enough room to adjust the car’s ride settings without affecting performance.

Verstappen knows it won’t be easy to fix this problem quickly. He said, “It takes time. You have to redesign things, come up with different things for the car, and that’s a work in progress.”

He mentioned that this ride issue has been there since the new rules came in. But now, because it’s costing them races, they are paying more attention to it.

Verstappen had discussions with the team after Monaco, and they are focusing more on fixing this problem now.

He knows that they can’t rely on their advantage anymore if other teams catch up. So, they need to fix the kerb riding issue.

But fixing it will take time because they might need to redesign some parts of the car, and they have a budget cap, so they can’t spend too much.

However, Verstappen is still hopeful. He believes they can still do well this year if they figure things out. They will try different things and see what works best. And even if they can’t fix everything this year, he is confident they can improve next year.
