Sauber has hired important people in the last year and a half. They are getting ready to become the Audi team in 2026. They hired Andreas Seidl and James Key from McLaren to lead the team.
The new F1 season was tough for Sauber. So, they hired Stefano Sordo to help James Key. Sordo will report directly to Key. Other teams also have more than one boss.
Seidl said, “Stefano joining us is a big step for our technical team. He knows what a winning team needs and has lots of experience. He will help us understand what we’re good at and what needs fixing. We have a strong team, and Stefano will help us perform better, especially now as we prepare for the Audi team’s debut.”
Sordo has worked in motorsport for over 20 years. He did many jobs, from being an engineer to leading aerodynamics at Red Bull when they won championships from 2010 to 2013. He also worked at McLaren.
Sordo said, “I’m happy to join Sauber. I want to help make the team even better. The Audi adventure is starting soon, and I’m excited to be part of it. Sauber has big goals, and I believe we can achieve them.”
Key added, “Stefano joining us is great news. He’ll help us understand how to make our cars better and improve during the season. He has a lot of experience and works hard. I’m glad to have him on our team.”
