During the race, Sainz had a hard time keeping up with others and didn’t make it to the top 10. He got into trouble when he hit Alex Albon’s car after spinning at Turn 6.

Sainz said he had to take risks to do well with the slick tires. This might have caused his crash at Turn 6. He felt better when the track started to dry, but it was too late.

He thinks Ferrari’s problems in Canada were a one-time thing. He said they didn’t do a good job with the tires in qualifying.

Leclerc also had a problem with his car’s engine. It was losing power, especially on the straight parts of the track. He tried to fix it during the race but couldn’t.

Ferrari tried to put Leclerc on new hard tires when the track was drying up, hoping it would help. But then, it started raining again, and this plan didn’t work.

Leclerc said, “I didn’t know how much power I was losing. Sometimes it was a lot, sometimes a little. It was hard to drive. I was frustrated because other cars passed me easily on the straights.”

“In the beginning, we managed well because the track was wet, but when it dried, I couldn’t keep up. The long pitstop was annoying, but it was the best we could do. I knew we wouldn’t get points because of the engine problem.”
