In the chaotic race, Red Bull’s Verstappen kept his position after pitstops, while McLaren’s Norris had to stop a lap later because he missed the pit entry when the safety car came out. Verstappen said it was a crazy race, but they made the right calls and managed the gaps well.
Norris fell to third after the pit stop but tried to undercut his rivals by staying out longer. However, he lost grip when he left the pits, allowing Verstappen to take the lead. Verstappen handled a second safety car restart perfectly and kept his lead.
At the start, Verstappen couldn’t pass Russell but caught up later. Norris, meanwhile, was lapping faster and overtook both Verstappen and Russell. But his lead was cut short when another safety car came out.
When the rain stopped, it was time for the intermediate-to-dry crossover. Verstappen and Russell pitted, but Norris stayed out longer to undercut them. However, he lost grip leaving the pit lane, letting Verstappen regain the lead.
Russell and Hamilton fought for the final podium spot, with Hamilton eventually taking it. Meanwhile, Ricciardo secured his first points finish of the season in eighth place.
