Can the PS5 and PS5 Pro deliver smooth 4K 60 fps gaming for Grand Theft Auto VI? What level of power can we expect from the rumored PlayStation 5 Pro? Today, we aim to unravel these longstanding mysteries.

In the realm of gaming, the debate over 60 fps (frames per second) has never been more prevalent than with the advent of the 2020 console generation, marked by the launch of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Of course, we shouldn’t forget about the Series S.

Grand Theft Auto VI, slated for release exclusively on consoles in 2025, could potentially become one of the biggest and most commercially successful entertainment products in history. The reveal trailer has already garnered immense attention, becoming the second most-viewed video game trailer at nearly 181 million views.

This popularity has even surpassed stalwarts like Minecraft. With such anticipation, it’s plausible that the first GTA 6 trailer from December 2023 might even surpass the all-time top video in the next 12 years.

While the current information suggests the game runs at 1440p 30 fps on consoles, indications of ray tracing being enabled have surfaced. This hints at the possibility of a 60 fps Performance mode within the graphics settings of GTA 6.

Regarding the PS5 Pro leaks, boasting 33.5 TFLOPS (teraflops) of power, a notable threefold increase compared to the standard PS5’s 10 TFLOPS, the prospects seem promising.

With such firepower, achieving 60 fps, even with ray tracing, on the PS5 Pro becomes feasible. Additionally, advancements like PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) could further enhance performance.

While dreaming of GTA 6 hitting a locked 120 fps on the PS5 Pro might seem ambitious, the potential is undeniable. However, true 8K gaming remains a distant aspiration, given current hardware limitations and display adoption rates.
