If the rumors are true, Hyundai is getting closer to making the Pony-inspired N Vision 74. A recent report from the Korean Economy Daily suggests that not only will the car be made, but it will be a powerful, hydrogen-powered supercar released in limited numbers.
According to this report, the production version will come out for the 2026 model year with a rear-wheel-drive setup. The car will be powered by electric motors that get their energy from a fuel cell stack. This setup is expected to produce over 775 horsepower, making the car go from 0 to 62 mph in 3.0 seconds or less. This matches what we heard when the concept was first shown.
However, the concept only claimed to have 670 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque from its dual-motor setup. If this report is true, it means Hyundai’s engineers have been making the car even more powerful as it gets closer to being made.
Even though it’s a fuel-cell vehicle, there’s also a battery in the car. Hyundai said the 62.4-kWh battery pack would give the car a decent range on its own. But the 85-kilowatt fuel cell stack acts as a big range extender with its own 4.2-kg hydrogen fuel tank. Hyundai’s engineers even said it could charge like a plug-in hybrid, meaning it could still run as an all-electric car when there’s no hydrogen to refill it. Hyundai said the total range for the N Vision 74 would be over 370 miles.
Only 200 units of the N74 will be made, which is double the number previously reported. The price for the N74 is expected to be around 500 million Korean won, which is about $365,000 at the current exchange rate. This puts it in the same price range as exclusive cars like the Cadillac Celestiq.
