Lucid Motors is about to launch its third electric car, and it might be called “Earth”! This mid-size SUV, known internally as “Project Midsize,” is expected to be their most affordable model yet, priced around $48,000.
The Lucid Earth is setting its sights on the popular Tesla Model Y. By the time Earth hits the market in 2026, Tesla might have already updated their Model Y, so it will be interesting to see how these two electric SUVs stack up against each other.
A recent trademark filing revealed three names Lucid might be considering for this new EV: “Earth,” “Lucid Earth,” and “Earth Dream Edition.” The “Dream Edition” name is already used for a high-end trim level on Lucid’s Air sedan, so this suggests the Earth might have similar trim options.
While there are still no official details about the Earth’s design or performance, Lucid’s history gives us some clues. Their current car, the Air, is a success story. If the Earth can offer a similar combination of affordability, power, and luxury, it could be a game-changer for Lucid Motors. They might finally turn a profit with this new electric SUV!
