Images of the upcoming Infiniti QX80, the upscale counterpart to the Nissan Patrol, have surfaced online ahead of its official debut, offering a glimpse into the future of the luxurious SUV segment.

Scheduled to be unveiled on March 20, the leaked photos provide a detailed look at the interior and exterior of the next-generation QX80, providing insights into what to expect from the upcoming Nissan Patrol as well.

The leaked images showcase a modern interior design featuring a spacious digital instrument cluster and a large infotainment touchscreen.

Notably, the climate controls are integrated into a separate touchscreen display, a feature reminiscent of certain Audi models. The interior boasts customizable ambient lighting, adding a touch of elegance to the cabin.

On the exterior, the QX80 sports distinctive ‘piano key’ daytime running lights and an illuminated logo on the grille, adorned with diagonal slats.

The headlights are housed in separate pods below the daytime running lights, a design cue likely to carry over to the next-generation Patrol/Armada.

In terms of performance, the next-generation QX80 is set to abandon its V8 engine in favor of a new twin-turbo V6 petrol engine. While the engine’s capacity has not been disclosed, it is expected to deliver 336kW of power and 698Nm of torque, surpassing the current Patrol’s naturally aspirated V8.

Paired with a new nine-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system, the upcoming QX80 promises enhanced performance and capability.

While the Infiniti QX80 exited the Australian market along with the Infiniti brand in 2020, the Nissan Patrol continues to be a top-selling model, reaffirming its popularity among consumers.

With its impending release, the next-generation QX80 hints at the evolution of the luxury SUV segment and sets the stage for the anticipated arrival of the Nissan Patrol.
