Bentley is introducing a special version of the Bentayga called the Apex Edition. This car is made by Bentley’s Mulliner bespoke division and is said to be the “most dynamic-looking and driving Bentayga ever.”
What makes this crossover special is its use of lightweight carbon materials. It has 22-inch carbon rims that are six kilograms lighter than the standard ones. Also, it has carbon silicon discs for brakes, which are lighter and can handle high temperatures better than iron rotors.
Using these lightweight materials, Bentley claims that the Apex models have better steering and braking performance. They say that carbon wheels don’t flex as much on the road and cause less tire wear.
For those interested in style, the Apex Edition offers six different design themes created by Mulliner. These include colors like Extreme Silver, Pale Brodgar, and Alpine Green, each with unique stripes and pinstripes. One standout theme is Candy Red with Arctic White accents inside and out.
Under the hood, the Apex Edition is based on the Bentayga S model. It has a powerful 550-horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine, rear axle steering, and active anti-roll technology. The regular Bentayga S starts at around $220,000, but there’s no word yet on the price or availability of the Apex editions.
