The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E 450 All-Terrain wagon is finally available, a bit later than expected. It comes with all-wheel drive, adaptive air suspension, and an off-road mode that the sedan version doesn’t have. This new model is wider than the previous one, giving more room inside, especially in the second row.
Inside, there’s a new Superscreen system, including a screen for the front passenger. The off-road mode activates the 360-degree camera system, with a “transparent hood” feature letting the driver see the ground in front of the car.
Mercedes upgraded the screens with a faster processor and added 5G connectivity for updates and features. This means quicker navigation and new features like a sound visualization function. You can even use third-party apps like Angry Birds or TikTok, or hold video calls from the car.
Under the hood, there’s a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six mild-hybrid engine, delivering 375 horsepower and 369 pounds of torque. It’s not as powerful as the AMG E 63 Wagon, but it’s still quick.
All these features come with a price. The starting price for the new wagon is $74,700, plus a $1,150 destination charge, totaling $75,850 before options and taxes. Compared to similar cars like the Volvo V90 Cross Country and Audi A6 Allroad, it’s more expensive. Only the Audi RS6 Avant and high-end EVs like the Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo cost more.
