Espargaro did really well in the practice sessions for the MotoGP race in Barcelona. He was the fastest, beating Brad Binder by a tiny bit. Binder fell off his bike two times during the second practice, which slowed him down.
Marc Marquez, a six-time world champion, didn’t do so well. He finished 12th in the practice session and will have to go through another qualifying session called Q1.
Pedro Acosta came third, riding for Tech3 GasGas, and the reigning world champion, Francesco Bagnaia, came fourth. Jack Miller and Jorge Martin were fifth and sixth.
In the second practice session, the weather was better than in the morning. Jack Miller was the fastest at first, but then Maverick Vinales and Jorge Martin took the lead. However, Espargaro set a new lap record near the end of the session and finished first.
Binder managed to recover from his falls and came second. Acosta finished third, followed by Bagnaia, Miller, and Martin.
Some other riders didn’t do so well. Alex Marquez fell off his bike near the end of the session, and his brother Marc Marquez finished 12th. Fabio Quartararo also fell off his bike and ended up in 14th place.
Stefan Bradl, a test rider for Honda, didn’t join the practice because he was sick.
