Martin and Marquez are vying for a spot in Ducati’s MotoGP team for next year. While Ducati needs to finalize its decision, the chosen rider must also sign the contract to seal the deal.

Enea Bastianini, one of the contenders, seems to be out of the race. This leaves Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez as the main contenders. Martin has shown impressive speed and consistency, securing two wins and several podiums this season. He has accumulated 155 points out of a possible 222, making him a strong candidate for Ducati.

However, Marquez’s recent performances cannot be ignored. Despite starting from low grid positions in the last few races, he managed to climb up to the podium, showcasing his skill and determination. With only a few races under his belt with Ducati, Marquez has proven his ability to adapt quickly to the bike.

Marquez’s strong presence both on and off the track makes him an attractive choice for Ducati. The team is eager to see how he performs with their latest bike. If Marquez secures a victory at Mugello, it could complicate Martin’s chances of joining Ducati’s factory team.

Martin has made it clear that he wants to race for a factory team next year. He has an offer from KTM and has given Ducati until Mugello to make a decision. If Ducati fails to meet his expectations, Martin will consider other options.

Marquez, on the other hand, is keeping his options open. While he prefers to return to a factory team, he is also considering offers from satellite teams. KTM is ready to recruit him if he decides to leave Ducati.

It seems that Ducati’s decision will depend on various factors, including the riders’ willingness to compromise. With most of the budget allocated to Francesco Bagnaia, Ducati’s next choice may not necessarily be based on preference, but on who is willing to make the most sacrifices.
