Bezzecchi had a strong season in 2023, finishing third in the championship with wins in Argentina, France, and India. However, his performance has dropped since he switched to the GP23 bike this year, with only one podium finish in the first six races.
As a result, riders like Martin and Marquez are now being considered for the factory Ducati team in 2025. Bezzecchi understands this, acknowledging that they are performing better than him currently.
He said, “I’m not upset because at the moment they deserve this more, so it’s normal.” Despite his ambitions for a factory seat, he knows he needs to focus on improving his performance first.
Bezzecchi also mentioned the possibility of staying with Ducati’s satellite team, considering their competitiveness even without a factory bike.
However, he is struggling to adapt to the GP23 compared to his teammate Di Giannantonio. He explained that he has difficulty releasing the brake, which affects the bike’s turning ability. This issue has affected his results, as he has scored fewer points than expected.
Bezzecchi and his team are working to address this problem and improve his performance on the track.
