Before the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, it was reported that Ducati plans to promote Jorge Martin to its factory team for 2025. This seemed to suggest that Marc Marquez might move to Pramac to ride a factory bike. However, Marquez said that joining Pramac is not an option for him.
Marquez later clarified that he intends to stay at Ducati either with Gresini on a factory bike or by moving up to the factory team.
Pramac has a contract with Ducati for 2025/2026, ensuring exclusive support from Ducati if they choose to use it. Gino Borsoi, speaking to DAZN, emphasized that Pramac won’t change this deal to give Marquez a factory bike for 2025. He praised Pramac’s achievements, highlighting their success in previous years and their current position with Jorge Martin leading the championship.
It’s uncertain if Pramac has activated its contract with Ducati for 2025/2026 or if this is just a tactic to pressure Marquez.
Pramac also has an offer from Yamaha to become its satellite team from 2025. If they accept, it could allow Gresini to have factory machinery in 2025.
Ducati hasn’t commented yet on what will happen with its satellite teams in 2025 or on Marquez’s statements from Thursday.
