At the Spanish Grand Prix this year, Marc Marquez did really well and got his first podium in the race. He was riding a Ducati bike that’s not from the factory team but from a team called Gresini.
Now, as the Italian Grand Prix is coming up, something interesting could happen. Ducati, the company that makes the bike Marquez is riding, has had some wins in the past, and the numbers of those wins match up with the riders’ numbers.
In Portugal, a rider named Martin won a race for Ducati. He had the number 89 on his bike. It was Ducati’s 89th win.
This win streak started in 2009 with a rider named Casey Stoner. He won the 27th race for Ducati.
Then, in 2022, another rider named Francesco Bagnaia won at the Italian Grand Prix. At that time, he had the number 63 on his bike. That was Ducati’s 63rd win.
And just recently, at the Catalan Grand Prix, Bagnaia won again. This time, it was Ducati’s 92nd win.
Now, the next number in this sequence is 93. And Marquez, who rides for Ducati, has the number 93 on his bike. So, at the Italian Grand Prix, Ducati could win its 93rd race if Marquez does well.
Marquez did really well in the last race in Barcelona. Even though he started far back on the grid, he finished second in the sprint race and third in the main race.
Talking about the upcoming race in Mugello, Marquez said it might not be easy for him to win because another Ducati rider, Pecco, is really good at that track. But Marquez is staying calm and enjoying the races.
Each Ducati rider has taken a different amount of time to win a race on their bike. For some, it took only one race, and for others, it took many races. But now, it’s Marquez’s turn to see what he can do at Mugello.
