Ford has officially launched a supercharger kit for the 2024 Mustang GT and Dark Horse models, elevating horsepower to an impressive 810 hp. Initially showcased on the Mustang FP800S concept at the 2023 SEMA show, the supercharger kit is now available through Ford Performance.
Priced at $9,995 and identified by part number M-6066-M8800, the kit offers a significant power boost. However, residents in California are excluded from accessing it as the kit lacks road use certification.
Developed in collaboration with Whipple Superchargers, the kit has undergone rigorous testing to meet Ford’s OEM durability standards. Additionally, it comes with a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty when installed at a dealer or ASE-certified shop.
Tailored for the 5.0-liter V-8 engines found in the Mustang GT and Dark Horse models, the kit delivers 810 hp at 7,500 rpm. It necessitates a minimum of 91-octane fuel and is rated at 800 hp for vehicles lacking an active exhaust system.
Included components consist of a 3.0-liter Whipple twin-screw supercharger, an air-to-water intercooler with a high-flow intercooler pump and oversized heat exchanger, high-flow fuel injectors, billet high-flow fuel rails, a high-flow intake, and a 92-mm throttle body.
Ford also provides a Tomahawk V2 flash tool as part of the kit. Previously, a similar kit offering 700 hp was introduced for the F-150 lineup.
For enthusiasts seeking even more performance, Whipple Superchargers offers a Stage 2 version of the supercharger, boosting output to 855 hp. This variant enhances power delivery through higher revs and increased shift points.
Looking ahead, Ford is expected to unveil additional upgrades for its latest Mustang models. In addition to the supercharger kit, last year’s SEMA concept featured a half-shaft upgrade kit, a suspension lowering kit, and various carbon-fiber aerodynamic components, suggesting a comprehensive array of performance enhancements on the horizon.
