The upcoming race on Sunday marks the return of the spring event to Bristol’s asphalt surface since 2020, following three consecutive seasons of dirt track races, with Christopher Bell emerging as the victor in the most recent edition last year.

Leading the series points standings, Ryan Blaney claimed the top spot in the speed chart with an impressive average lap speed of 127.681 mph. Notably, the top three overall speeds were recorded in the first 20-minute session, with Blaney leading the pack, followed by Kyle Busch and Bubba Wallace.

In Group B, Harrison Burton showcased his prowess by leading with an average lap speed of 125.215 mph.

Among drivers completing at least 10 consecutive laps, Blaney maintained the highest average speed at 125.713 mph, with Ross Chastain and Wallace closely following suit.

During the Group B session, Burton’s performance stood out as he secured the lead with an average lap speed of 125.215 mph. Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson followed closely in second and third positions, respectively, with Brad Keselowski and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. rounding out the top five.

Early in the session, Ty Gibbs encountered a setback as he veered off track in Turn 2 and made contact with the wall, prompting a brief caution period. Despite the setback, Gibbs’ team swiftly addressed the issue, enabling him to return to the track before the end of practice.

In Group A, Blaney wasted no time in asserting his dominance, quickly ascending to the top of the speed chart with an average lap speed of 127.681 mph. Following closely behind, Kyle Busch claimed the second position with a speed of 126.988 mph, while Wallace secured third place with 126.921 mph.

Chastain secured the fourth spot, with Blaney’s Penske teammate, Joey Logano, rounding out the top five performers in the session.
