NASCAR’s surprise announcement came sooner than expected. The CW will now be the new broadcaster for the NASCAR Xfinity Series starting in 2025, a year ahead of schedule. The network plans to show all 33 races of the secondary NASCAR division next year.
This partnership will extend until the 2031 season. Although NBC was originally set to air the 2024 NXS playoffs, they will still produce the races and use NBC commentators. Rick Allen will return as the lead race announcer, joined by analysts Jeff Burton and Steve Letarte.
The CW will start its coverage on September 20 at Bristol Motor Speedway, which is the final race of the regular season. From there, they will broadcast all playoff races.
Dennis Miller, President of The CW Network, expressed gratitude towards NASCAR and NBC Sports for welcoming the network into the NASCAR broadcast family. He also shared excitement about showcasing the thrilling final eight Xfinity Series races of the season on The CW. Miller emphasized the network’s eagerness to become a new destination for live motorsports.
NASCAR’s Senior Vice President of Media and Productions, Brian Herbst, highlighted the strong collaboration between media partners in showcasing live NASCAR racing. He welcomed The CW’s early start as the home of the NASCAR Xfinity Series, with the support of NBC Sports, and expressed enthusiasm for delivering thrilling on-track action to fans.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series is known as a platform where rising stars establish themselves. Since 2000, nearly all champions of this series have gone on to become winners in the NASCAR Cup Series.
