Chris Buescher, who races for RFK Racing alongside Keselowski, was trying hard to stay in front of Reddick towards the end of Sunday’s race. However, Reddick bumped into him while attempting a risky move off Turn 4, causing both of them to get flat tires and head to the pit road. This mishap opened the door for Keselowski, who took the lead with eight laps to go and managed to hold off Ty Gibbs to win the race.
This victory marks Keselowski’s first win since he became a co-owner of RFK Racing in 2022 and his 36th career win. It’s also the first win for a Ford driver in any of NASCAR’s three national series this season.
Keselowski expressed his excitement after the win, highlighting the significance of winning at Darlington. He mentioned the tough battle with his teammate and Reddick, describing it as an incredible experience.
Reflecting on the race, Keselowski admitted that losing the lead to Buescher late in the race wasn’t ideal, but he knew he would have another opportunity. When Buescher and Reddick collided, Keselowski caught a break, which he felt was long overdue considering the tough breaks he had experienced in the past.
Following the race, Buescher was visibly upset and confronted Reddick about the incident. Reddick took responsibility for his actions, acknowledging his mistake.
In the end, Buescher finished 30th, and Reddick finished 32nd. Josh Berry secured third place, followed by Denny Hamlin in fourth and Chase Briscoe in fifth. The top 10 was completed by William Byron, Bubba Wallace, Alex Bowman, Justin Hailey, and Michael McDowell.
The race comprised three stages, with Larson winning Stage 1 and Reddick winning Stage 2. However, a collision between Blaney and Truex in Stage 3 led to Blaney being knocked out of the race.
As the race progressed, Keselowski gradually caught up to Reddick and eventually took the lead with 67 laps to go. Despite some challenges, Keselowski managed to maintain his position and secure the victory, ending his winless streak on a high note.
