During the first 100 laps of the 200-lap main event, there wasn’t much happening. But at the beginning, Kyle Busch hit the outside wall as the cars went three-wide.
Busch thought Ricky Stenhouse Jr. hit him, so he hit Stenhouse back on lap 2. This caused a lot of damage to Stenhouse’s car, and he had to stop racing early.
Stenhouse was upset and parked his damaged car in Busch’s team’s area. Then, he went to the care center.
Since there’s no tunnel at North Wilkesboro, Stenhouse had to wait at the track. He said he would talk to Busch after the race, and he did. They had a short argument, and then Stenhouse hit Busch with his hand. After that, there was a fight involving their crews and Stenhouse’s father. NASCAR said they would check what happened and decide on any penalties next week.
Stenhouse said Busch had been saying bad things about him since he once crashed into him at Daytona. Stenhouse thought they got along okay outside of racing. He didn’t understand why Busch was so angry. Stenhouse said Busch was probably frustrated because he isn’t doing as well in races as he used to. Stenhouse’s car was doing well in practice, and he was looking forward to the race, but Busch ruined it for him.
Stenhouse was annoyed about having to stay at the track for the rest of the race. If there was a tunnel, he said he would have gone home. He joked about having a charity match with Busch to raise money.
Busch didn’t say anything when he left the track. He finished 10th, and Stenhouse finished 20th.
