Tata Motors, India’s leading automobile manufacturer, has reported a 13.9 percent growth in its total sales for the month of December 2022. The company sold a total of 1,17,726 vehicles in the month of December, compared to 1,03,323 units in the same period last year.
The company’s domestic sales increased by 15.2 percent to 1,11,053 units in December 2022, compared to 96,360 units in the same period last year. The Passenger Vehicles segment of the company recorded a growth of 11.3 percent to 73,762 units in December 2022, compared to 66,093 units in the same period last year. The company’s Commercial Vehicles segment reported a growth of 19.8 percent to 37,291 units in December 2022, compared to 31,267 units in the same period last year.
Tata Motors also recorded a growth of 6.3 percent in its exports for the month of December 2022, to 6,673 units, compared to 6,263 units in the same period last year.
Commenting on the growth, Tata Motors’ President of the Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Mayank Pareek, said, “December was a good month for Tata Motors. We are delighted to report a 13.9 percent growth in our total sales for the month. This growth was driven by strong performance in the domestic market, where our Passenger Vehicles segment reported an 11.3 percent growth. The Commercial Vehicles segment also contributed significantly to the growth, reporting a 19.8 percent growth. We are confident that our performance will continue to improve in the coming months.”
