Collet is set to steer the No. 18 entry for the reigning two-time champions as they gear up with a formidable lineup of 10 drivers for the forthcoming season, kicking off on March 10 at the Streets of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Adding to his racing endeavors, the 21-year-old Brazilian prodigy was recently unveiled as the reserve and simulator driver for the Nissan Formula E Team.

Expressing his aspirations, Collet affirmed, “The NTT IndyCar Series is a goal of mine for the future but right now, I am 100 percent focused on Indy NXT with HMD Motorsports.”

Acknowledging the learning curve ahead, he added, “I have a lot to learn, and I am thankful for the opportunity. I will put my best foot forward at achieving race wins, podium results, and the championship for both HMD Motorsports and myself.”

A product of the Alpine Academy, Collet brings six years of junior formula experience to the table, boasting an impressive resume highlighted by his triumph in the 2018 French Formula 4 Championship.

His tenure in Formula 3 over the past three seasons witnessed three victories, 11 podium finishes, and one pole position, with a notable best championship result of eighth in 2022.

Collet’s initiation into the Indy NXT machinery commenced last October during the Chris Griffis Memorial Test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, where he concluded the day in fifth position. Returning to action with the team in November at Barber Motorsports Park, he clinched the second spot on the timesheets.

Reflecting on the journey, HMD Team President Mike Maurini remarked, “It has been a long process to officially confirm Caio as an HMD Motorsports driver in 2024.”

Maurini emphasized Collet’s primary focus, stating, “While he will also have the title of Reserve and Sim Driver for Nissan in Formula E, Caio’s main focus will be Indy NXT with us in 2024.”
