Jeep is implementing measures to combat inflation by reducing the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of the Grand Cherokee for the 2024 model year, which received minor updates. Both the two-row and three-row L variants are affected.
The Grand Cherokee Laredo now sees a $2,000 price decrease, while the Limited trim receives a $3,500 reduction. The higher-end Overland and Summit trims witness a $4,000 decrease in pricing.
Consequently, the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo starts at $38,035 (down from $40,035), while the three-row version is priced at $40,035 (previously $42,035). These new prices undercut the 2024 Ford Explorer XLT and Toyota Highlander LE, which are priced at $38,670 and $39,270, respectively.
The top-tier Grand Cherokee Summit 4×4 two-row and three-row variants now start at $62,560 and $64,560, respectively. The pricing for the Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid remains unchanged.
These adjustments are expected to attract more consumers to consider the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is the company’s top-selling model in the US. In the previous year, the Grand Cherokee sold 61,723 units, marking a 22% increase compared to the year before. Conversely, the Jeep Renegade is being discontinued after the 2023 model year due to lackluster sales.
Additionally, the Gladiator has also seen a price reduction, now priced below $40,000 for the new model year. Although there have been significant price cuts across various models, it’s important to note that these have come at the expense of last month’s 10% off promotions, according to reports from CarsDirect.
This suggests that pricing may remain similar in some areas. Nonetheless, any news of lower pricing is welcomed. With the electric Wagoneer S expected to arrive in the fall, more discounts across the Jeep range might be anticipated in the coming months to make room for new EV inventory.
