Abarth has embraced electric vehicles with models like the 500e and 600e, but it continues to produce gasoline-powered hot hatchbacks. The enduring 695, now receiving its umpteenth special edition, commemorates the brand’s 75th anniversary.
Named the Abarth 695 75° Anniversario, this latest limited-run model aims to refresh a car that has been in existence for 16 years. Originally launched in 2008 as the 595 model, it features exclusive 17-inch wheels with a gold finish matching the body decals.
The graphics depict a piston head on the rear fenders and a large “Abarth” logo spanning almost the entire width of the doors. Additionally, the roof boasts a prominent scorpion motif, which is also finished in gold.
The distinctive vertically stacked exhaust tips, reminiscent of Lexus designs, have become a signature of the Italian brand since their introduction in 2021 on the Abarth F595. These unique exhausts have since been featured on other models, including the recent F595C.
Equipped with the Record Monza exhaust, available on select 595 and 695 models, it incorporates an active valve to adjust the exhaust note. While the interior shows signs of aging, Abarth has attempted to elevate it by adorning a portion of the dashboard with Alcantara.
The cabin features Sabelt carbon seats with yellow stitching and “75° Anniversario” lettering embroidered on the headrests for a retro-inspired aesthetic.
Despite its age, the cabin remains equipped with modern amenities including automatic air conditioning, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual 7-inch screens, and a Beats sound system.
Abarth plans to produce only 1,368 units of this special edition model, a number chosen as a homage to the engine’s displacement of 1,368 cc.
