Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a new special package for the A45 S 4Matic+, known as the ‘Limited Edition,’ enhancing the already fiery hatch with distinctive touches aimed at making it stand out. Let’s delve into the exterior, which boasts the striking AMG Green Hell Magno paintwork, previously exclusive to the AMG GT R Coupe.
This vibrant green hue, a first in the compact class, is complemented by bold A45 S logos on the front doors and prominent black racing stripes that cascade across the lower sections of the car, including the hood, roof, and trunk.
The 19-inch forged AMG wheels, finished in matte black, feature contrasting yellow accents matching the pinstripes, while black AMG brake calipers with white AMG logos peek behind the seven-spoke wheels.
Further exterior enhancements include puddle lamps projecting the AMG coat of arms onto the ground and an exclusive AMG logo fuel cap. The Limited Edition comes standard with the AMG Night Package, AMG Night Package II, and AMG Aerodynamics Package, adding gloss black finishes to elements like the front splitter, mirror housings, and beltlines.
The Night Package II extends the black trim to exterior badges, grille struts, and various other details. A fixed AMG rear wing and additional aerodynamic enhancements not only enhance the vehicle’s aesthetics but also contribute to improved high-speed driving dynamics, increasing downforce.
Inside, the changes continue with black Artico artificial leather and microfiber upholstery adorning the AMG performance seats. Subtle yellow stitching accents the seats, with ’45 S’ embroidered into the headrests in matching yellow.
The AMG performance steering wheel receives a similar treatment, featuring aluminum trim inlays with a distinctive AMG pattern and yellow AMG lettering for a sporty yet luxurious feel. Even the floor mats boast ’45 S’ lettering and yellow stitching.
Regrettably, the A45 S is not available in the United States, with the A-Class having been discontinued in early 2022. However, the CLA45 remains an option locally, although it’s unlikely to receive the Limited Edition treatment.
The Limited Edition package commands a price of €14,280 (approximately $15,300), bringing the total cost of an A45 S 4Matic+ to €87,792 ($94,000). While it may seem steep for a hot hatch, its impressive 416 horsepower engine propels it from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 3.9 seconds.
AMG’s penchant for special editions continues with the recent release of the SL 63 Big Sur, coinciding with the American launch of the Manufaktur program for the AMG SL line.
