The brand-new Seres 3 has arrived in the UK, and it’s different from BMW’s 3 Series. It’s an electric crossover that costs less than £30,000, making it the cheapest option in the UK market.
Made by a Chinese company called Seres, the Seres 3 is seen as a fancy model and comes in two versions: Active and Spirit. It’s being sold through IA Electric Vehicles and will be available in the spring for £29,995, or about $37,680.
The Seres 3 is praised for its modern design, fancy tech features, and nice materials inside. The basic version has a keyless start, a rear-view camera, and a big touchscreen.
The Spirit model has even more cool stuff like a big sunroof, wireless phone charging, and heated seats. The seats and dashboard are covered in leather. If you want the fanciest version, it’ll cost you £31,995, or $40,207.
Seres says the car is super safe, with six airbags and special attachments for baby seats. The car is easy to use inside, too.
It’s not a huge car, being about 173 inches long and 72.8 inches wide. It’s designed to compete with other small electric crossovers like the Kia Mazda CX-30, Volvo EX30, and Peugeot e-2008.
Under the hood, there’s an electric motor that makes 161 horsepower. It’s not super fast, taking 9 seconds to go from 0 to 62 mph.
The battery can go up to 205 miles before needing to charge again, and it only takes 30 minutes to get it from 20% to 80% charged. You can buy the Seres 3 starting in the spring if you’re interested in getting the most affordable electric crossover in the UK.
