The sequence of events unfolded when the suspected one-chance member, along with his accomplices, found themselves cornered by vigilant motorists at Tophill School on Accra Street, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja. As they attempted to escape the mob’s grasp, they resorted to reckless maneuvers, including driving onto the pedestrian walkway.
In a desperate bid to regain control of their situation, the suspects attempted to rejoin the main road, only to collide with the vehicle of a One Star Army Officer. The impact was substantial, forcing the suspects to abandon their vehicle and attempt to flee on foot.
However, their escape was short-lived as they were swiftly apprehended by members of the public before they could scale a nearby fence. Despite the palpable anger of the mob, the Army officer intervened, preventing any further escalation of violence.
Currently, the apprehended suspects, including the suspected one-chance member, are in custody at the police station, awaiting further legal proceedings. The incident serves as another reminder of the dangers posed by criminal activities like one-chance robbery syndicates and the importance of community vigilance in combating them.
