Vladimir Putin has bestowed upon Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, a lavish gift in the form of a luxury Aurus Senat L700 limousine. This gesture comes as a result of Kim’s admiration for the Russian-made luxury vehicle during his visit to Russia last September.
According to reports from North Korea’s official KCNA news agency, the Russian side delivered the limousine to Kim’s top aides on Sunday, February 18th.
Kim Yo Jong, Kim’s sister, conveyed her brother’s gratitude to Putin, emphasizing the significance of the gift as a symbol of the special relationship between the leaders of North Korea and Russia.
During Kim’s visit to eastern Russia in September 2023, Vladimir Putin showcased one of his black armored limousines to the North Korean leader. A video shared at the time captured Kim’s apparent delight as he sat alongside Putin in the luxurious Aurus limousine during their meeting at the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Russia’s Far East.
The Kremlin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, later confirmed the gift, explaining that Kim had expressed his admiration for the vehicle during his visit to the Vostochny Cosmodrome.
Peskov noted that North Korea holds strategic importance as a neighboring country, and Russia is committed to fostering and strengthening relations with all its neighbors, including North Korea.
