Lagos Police Command Rescues Female Secondary School Student from Kidnappers’ Tinted Toyota Camry in Ikotun
The Lagos State Police Command, through its operatives at the Ikotun Police Division, has successfully thwarted an attempted abduction of a female secondary school student. The student was rescued from the clutches of the suspects who had lured her into their tinted Toyota Camry.
According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Hundeyin Benjamin, the arrested suspects will face legal proceedings upon the conclusion of the investigation. The tinted Toyota Camry used in the attempted abduction has been impounded by the authorities.
Emphasizing the importance of vigilance and parental guidance, the Lagos Police Command urged members of the public to educate their children about the dangers of interacting with strangers.
In a statement titled “Let’s Teach Our Children Not to Follow Strangers!” the State Command detailed the swift response of the Ikotun Police Division to community reports regarding suspicious activities in the area.
The statement read: “The Ikotun Police Division received intelligence from vigilant community members about the presence of unfamiliar individuals behaving suspiciously in their vicinity. Acting swiftly, the police were able to rescue a female secondary school student who had been deceived and abducted by these individuals.”
The arrested suspects, identified as Adamaka Chinyere and Bolajoko Haruna, are awaiting arraignment pending the completion of the investigation. Meanwhile, the rescued student has been reunited with her family, bringing relief to her loved ones.
In a related development, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) recently announced plans to crack down on vehicles with unauthorized tinted glasses.
The Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, highlighted the role of such vehicles in facilitating criminal activities, including kidnappings. Adejobi emphasized that criminals often exploit vehicles with unauthorized tinted glasses for their nefarious operations.
