Lexus has unveiled a series of notable updates to the NX, the luxury crossover introduced in its second generation in 2021. These enhancements, initially launched in Japan, encompass chassis enhancements, additional features, and the introduction of a new trim level.

The NX’s chassis has undergone enhancements, including the integration of braces to bolster rigidity and prevent rear body deformation. This is complemented by refined suspension tuning aimed at enhancing handling stability and ride comfort.

Fine-tuning of drive modes and cabin quietness has also been conducted, while the NX350 trim boasts revamped front and rear torque distribution systems, prioritizing smoothness, linear acceleration, and overall comfort.

Taking inspiration from the Lexus GX, the NX welcomes the all-new Overtrail trim, characterized by a distinctive blacked-out design featuring a grille, window frames, door handles, outer mirrors, and roof rails.

It debuts in a striking Moon Desert color and is equipped with 18-inch black aluminum wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, elevating the crossover’s ground clearance by 0.6 inches.

Inside, the NX Overtrail boasts exclusive design elements such as the Monolith upholstery and ornamental touches on the door cards. Functionally, this model benefits from a specially tuned adaptive variable suspension system designed to enhance stability and comfort on uneven surfaces.

Furthermore, the Overtrail trim, along with all-wheel-drive models, receives an upgraded Trail mode optimized for preventing tire spins and effectively distributing power between the wheels.

Beyond the chassis enhancements and introduction of the Overtrail trim, the updated Lexus NX lineup introduces a new Sonic Copper exterior paint color and offers Solis White and Hazel upholstery options for the cabin, depending on the trim level.

Furthermore, two USB Type-C charging ports have been added to the center console, and exterior lighting has been integrated into the rear handles. The NX350 F Sport variant now features Advanced Park assistance and Parking support braking.

Other notable changes include the transition from a 9.8-inch to a 14-inch Display Audio Plus, the addition of fender arch molding, improved Qi wireless charging capabilities, and upgraded trinocular full LED headlamps. A panoramic sunroof option has been introduced for the top-spec NX.

The updated Lexus NX is currently available in Japan, with expectations for these enhancements to potentially reach the U.S. market for the 2025 model year, considering that updates for 2024 have already been implemented.
