This revelation was shared through an official tweet from the agency’s handle, highlighting the significant contribution of the Apapa Area Command to the Customs Service’s revenue stream:
“Did you know that within the Nigeria Customs Service, the Apapa Area Command alone generates an average of N198,802,021 per hour and N4,771,248,513 daily?”
In another tweet, the agency disclosed that the Oyo/Osun Command leads in the collection of excise duty revenue:

In a statement issued on Friday, the Customs Controller for Oyo/Osun, Ben Oramalugo, revealed that the command achieved a revenue generation of N5.6 billion for the month of February alone:
“Between February 1, 2024, and February 27, 2024, the Oyo/Osun Area Command recorded a revenue collection totaling N5,664,295,751.15. When combined with the N6,824,954,338.96 collected in January 2024, the cumulative revenue for the fiscal year of 2024 amounts to N12,489,250,090.11.”
This achievement underscores the Customs Service’s commitment to meeting its revenue targets for the year 2024. It is noteworthy that the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, had previously expressed confidence in surpassing the revenue target of N5.079 trillion set for 2024.
This target represents a significant increase of 27.75 percent compared to the previous year’s revenue goal, as he emphasized during the defense of the 2024 budget, totaling N706.43 billion.
