Among the new releases are two Speed Champions sets, crafted in partnership with McLaren Racing and BMW, along with two Lego Technic cars from the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula 1 Team. Additionally, there’s a Lego Icons car from McLaren and the Senna brand, alongside two fresh racing-themed cars from Lego City.
While all sets are remarkable, the 1988 McLaren MP4/4, developed in collaboration with McLaren Racing and the Senna brand, is particularly anticipated.
This Icons model boasts functional steering, rod suspension, an adjustable rear wing, slick tires, mirrors, a gearshift, a detailed turbocharged V-6 engine, and a display stand accompanied by an Ayrton Senna minifigure. With a total of 693 pieces, measuring 12.5 inches in length, it retails for $79.99 and is now available.
The Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance is presented in two Technic versions. The first, a pull-back model for younger children, comprises 240 pieces and measures 9.5 inches, priced at $26.99.
For adult enthusiasts seeking authenticity, there’s a 1:8 scale model featuring accurate livery details, a V-6 engine with moving pistons, an opening wing, individual suspension, functioning steering, and slick tires. This intricate model, with 1,642 pieces and measuring 25 inches, comes at $219.99.
Lego offers several Speed Champions models tailored for kids aged nine and above. These include the 2023 McLaren Formula 1 race car, the BMW M4 GT3, and the BMW M Hybrid V-8 race cars, each accompanied by minifigure drivers.
The McLaren, with 245 pieces and measuring 7 inches, retails for $26.99, while the BMWs, priced at $44.99 each, comprise 676 pieces.
For the youngest racing enthusiasts, Lego introduces two new racing-inspired Lego City sets, suitable for kids aged 4 and up. These sets include a City Green Race Car featuring a driver, photographer, sporty tires, and a rear spoiler.
There’s a City Race Car and Car Carrier Truck set, comprising a race car with lowered suspension and flared fenders, along with a transporter featuring a loading ramp and two minifigure drivers.
The City Green Race Car, with 56 pieces and measuring 4.5 inches, is priced at $9.99, while the Race Car and Car Carrier set, with 328 pieces and measuring 6.5 inches, costs $29.99.
The sets were launched on March 1 and are available on Lego.com.
