Whisky enthusiasts with a taste for luxury are in for a treat with the latest collaboration between Bentley Motors and The Macallan.
This exclusive single malt whisky, created to celebrate the distillery’s 200th anniversary, comes with a price tag that rivals that of a luxury car.
“Our partnership with Bentley Motors has sparked a fresh perspective for us. Traditionally, the spirits industry adheres to an upright approach, from our stills to our bottles,” remarked Jaume Ferras, The Macallan’s global creative director. However, this collaboration dares to defy convention with a sideways format.
Crafted from recycled materials sourced from both The Macallan and Bentley Motors, the bottle features a distinctive design incorporating a copper frame, aluminum ribbon, and low-carbon leather.
Nestled within a leather-lined wooden case with oak inlay, the packaging showcases Bentley’s signature Crown Cut Walnut veneer.
“This collaboration represents a unique project for The Macallan, inspired by the automotive industry’s creative vision. By presenting The Macallan Horizon in this sideways orientation, we aim to capture the horizontal trajectory of the automotive world,” added Ferras.
According to Vinepair, this exquisite whisky was meticulously distilled in sherry-seasoned oak casks, exuding aromas of plums and dark cherries, complemented by notes of cinder toffee, crystallized ginger, and charred pineapple.
However, before aspiring collectors rush to secure a bottle, they must be prepared for its hefty price tag. Priced at $51,274, this exceptional creation embodies the pinnacle of craftsmanship and luxury, reflecting the prestige of both The Macallan and Bentley Motors.
