Colapinto initially crossed the finish line in seventh place during Sunday’s feature race but was subsequently disqualified following a report from the technical delegate. The report revealed that the Williams Academy driver failed to engage in the start set-up procedure mandated by regulations, both for the race start and formation lap starts.
Consequently, Colapinto, competing for MP Motorsport, lost six points earned, relegating him to 13th place in the championship standings. Additionally, he finished fourth in Saturday’s sprint race.
Meanwhile, Hadjar delivered a nearly flawless performance around the Albert Park circuit, leading the field to victory on Saturday and Sunday. However, an error during the sprint race start proved costly when Hadjar moved right, causing his teammate Marti to collide with Bortoleto’s car.
As a result, Hadjar received a 10-second penalty, dropping him to sixth place. Campos Racing appealed the penalty, presenting evidence they believed was significant and new to the case. However, the stewards deemed the evidence insufficient to warrant a review.
They concluded that the evidence presented did not meet the necessary criteria and was already evaluated during the original hearing. Despite the team’s efforts, the appeal was dismissed, affirming the penalty imposed on Hadjar.
