The driver of a Toyota FJ Cruiser in Kuwait narrowly escaped with minor injuries after being ejected from the SUV during a reckless driving incident on a sandy beach. The 34-year-old driver was catapulted nearly 16 feet (5m) into the air, showcasing the grave consequences of not wearing a seatbelt.
The alarming moment of the ejection was captured on camera, underscoring the critical importance of seatbelt usage, particularly during such risky maneuvers. Despite the severity of the incident, the driver reportedly sustained only minor injuries.
However, the same cannot be said for the Toyota FJ Cruiser itself, as evidenced by images of the aftermath circulating online. The SUV appeared heavily damaged, likely beyond repair, given the extent of the damage incurred during multiple flips and its immersion in saltwater.
Following the accident, the fire department retrieved the wrecked vehicle from the sea, and law enforcement subsequently seized it. The once iconic Toyota FJ Cruiser, which has been in production for 17 years, saw its demise last year when Toyota Motors officially announced its discontinuation.
This decision came after the introduction of the Final Edition model in the Middle East six months prior, signaling the end of an era for the rugged off-roader.
